Plan your visitAmerica's Tapestry comes to Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library in Wilmington, Delaware, from February to June 2029, one stop on a national tour that opened at the Muscarelle Museum of Art in Williamsburg, Virginia, in June 2026 and travels the original thirteen colonies. The collection of thirteen needlework tapestries — one for each colony, stitched by some two thousand volunteers to mark the nation's 250th anniversary — will be on view at the former home of Henry Francis du Pont, a museum of American decorative art holding nearly 90,000 objects across a 175-room house set in a thousand acres.
There is a close connection here: Winterthur was one of the stitching venues for Delaware's own panel.
